# A finding is not a promise.

Evidence is the research behind a claim. Ask what was measured, and whether it matches the change you hope to feel.

## What the focus studies can say

Small Semax studies in healthy adults looked at brain scans and recordings of the brain’s electrical activity, sometimes called brain waves. The research was reviewed September 30, 2026. [FDA’s Semax review](https://www.fda.gov/media/193348/download)

Is a change in a scan a change I would notice?

A change in recorded brain activity does not by itself show better concentration. These studies did not prove that people could focus better in daily life.

## Look at how far the claim reaches

Much of the Semax research in people involves small groups and is published in Russian, as checked September 30, 2026. [FDA’s Semax review](https://www.fda.gov/media/193348/download)

No Semax study was listed in ClinicalTrials.gov, the US record of research studies, in a search on September 30, 2026. [ClinicalTrials.gov search record](https://clinicaltrials.gov/api/v2/studies?query.intr=semax&countTotal=true)

A paper’s language is not a quality score. The practical question is whether the result has been tested again and whether it supports the claim being made.

## Ask for the human finding

Try: “Which study in people supports the change you expect for me? What did it actually measure?”

Ask what the study compared, who took part and what the limits were. You can ask for a plain answer before reading the paper itself.

What if I only get a success story?

Ask for the study behind the claim. One person’s story does not tell you whether similar people improved without Semax, with Semax or with another treatment.
