Care note / Pause and check

# Let the offer answer questions.

Before deciding, get the words and the people clear. An unanswered question is a reason to pause and ask again.

## Look for a care conversation

A treatment picked from a website’s list without a real assessment is not proper care. The Federation of State Medical Boards gives this advice in guidance checked September 26, 2026. [Medical-board prescribing guidance](https://www.fsmb.org/siteassets/advocacy/policies/guidance-on-recent-trends-in-prescribing-and-dispensing-adopted.pdf)

This group brings together the state bodies that oversee doctors. Its advice is for those bodies; each state sets its own rules.

Can I ask my own questions?

The guidance also calls for patients to have a way to ask follow-up questions of their doctor or another health professional treating them. [Medical-board prescribing guidance](https://www.fsmb.org/siteassets/advocacy/policies/guidance-on-recent-trends-in-prescribing-and-dispensing-adopted.pdf)

## Ask what an approval claim means

FDA guidance checked September 26, 2026 makes clear that calling a compounded medicine “FDA-approved” is false. [FDA’s compounding explanation](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/compounding-and-fda-questions-and-answers)

Compounding means preparing a medicine to order. That process does not carry FDA approval.

Can a seal settle it?

A health website’s seal or logo can be faked even if it looks official, warns the Federal Trade Commission in advice checked September 17, 2026. [FTC advice on health-site claims](https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0023-buying-health-products-services-online)

## Ask who would make the product

People who get medicines prepared to order online may not know the maker’s identity, says the FDA in guidance checked September 17, 2026. [FDA’s compounding explanation](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/human-drug-compounding/compounding-and-fda-questions-and-answers)

Ask for the maker’s name, the exact product and a written explanation of its status. Keep those details together as you check the offer.

What about a very low fee?

If a price seems unrealistically good, treat it as a warning sign, says FDA advice checked September 17, 2026. Price alone cannot tell you whether a pharmacy is trustworthy. [FDA’s online pharmacy checks](https://www.fda.gov/drugs/besaferx-your-source-online-pharmacy-information/considering-online-pharmacy)

This guide gives no verified US Semax price to compare an offer with. There is no approved US product or maker’s US list price as of September 30, 2026. [FDA’s Semax review](https://www.fda.gov/media/193348/download)

Ask for all charges in writing. Check the doctor, pharmacy and product details as well; a discount is not enough to judge the offer.
